Palmer River Roadhouse The bus stopped for 20 minutes at the Palmer River Roadhouse . Here there is a restaurant, bar and poolroom, a small store selling t-shirts and gold nuggets. This area was once a gold mining area but the man behind the bar told me I would be pushing to find gold here these days but I was welcome to try. Camping is $30 unpowered and $35 powered and amenities provided. Its a beautiful oasis on the way and interesting to visit.
